Michael specialises in contentious construction. He was previously Head of Construction at Kingsley Napley and has worked for both Masons and Cameron McKenna, gaining extensive experience of major contentious construction and engineering matters in the UK and internationally. Michael’s expertise encompasses risk management, litigation, arbitration, mediation, adjudication and the preparation of construction claims in relation to disputes involving final accounts, loss and expense, extensions of time, liquidated damages and defects. He is a formidable adversary in adjudications and claim related work.
Jill who qualified in 1987, was previously head of litigation at Girlings. She joined Brachers in 2003, becoming an associate in 2005 in the dispute resolution team. Jill specialises in property, chancery and commercial litigation, including landlord and tenant, construction disputes, boundaries, rights of way and disputes over title to land. She has acted as tutor on the Diploma of Advanced Litigation run by Law South and Nottingham Law School and is an accredited mediator with the ADR Group.
James Millis is singled out for his “sound advice and ability to explain the licensing laws to a layman audience.” He is able to draw on his dispute resolution expertise during threats of reviews and other enforcement actions.
