He acted in the House of Lords case of Sage v SSETR and Maidstone Borough Council. He has been recognised by Chambers as a leader in his field for many years. He is a member of the UK Environmental Law Association, Legal Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute, and a member of the Law Society's Specialist Planning Panel.

Lee May has 10 years experience in planning and environmental law. In the area of Town and Country Planning he has advised on the full range of matters from major regeneration schemes, housing and commercial developments through to listed buildings, householder applications and enforcement. His environmental law experience includes advising on Environmental Permit applications, Agricultural Exemptions and prosecuting and defending environmental offences.
In addition Lee can advise on all aspects of law and procedure affecting local authorities including housing, building control, environmental health, data protection and freedom of information law.
Lee started his career at a local authority before moving into private practice. He joined Brachers in May 2010 from another Kent law firm.
