Trainee Life in Maidstone
Our trainees have plenty of social opportunities. A generous trainee-managed budget is set aside annually for social activities. Regular social events are also organised by the West Kent Trainee Solicitors Group and the local Young Professionals Group.
Maidstone
Maidstone itself is the County town of Kent with many local amenities including the recently developed Fremlin Walk shopping area and a variety of pubs and bars, a good range of restaurants and an entertainment complex with a cinema and night-clubs, theatre and local film society. There are also several health and fitness clubs, rowing clubs and a large tennis club, close to Brachers’ Maidstone offices. Maidstone is particularly pretty in the summer time with many parks, gardens and walks along the river. The new Millennium Park is home to a modern amphitheatre, adventure playground and skatepark.
A bit of history
Historically, Maidstone has the largest mass of medieval buildings in Europe, encompassing the outer grounds of the Archbishops Palace and including the Sea Cadets, the Old Medieval Gate, the Coach Museum, the Tourist Information Office and several pubs on both Stone Street and Week Street. The Thirsty Pig and The Ship used to be the stables to the Palace.
Out and about
Maidstone is close to the M20, with easy access to the coast, London and Europe. Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells are nearby and there are many castles and tourist attractions throughout Kent.
