HIGH DEMAND FOR PLACES AT THE SOUTH EAST’S FOREMOST CONSTRUCTION EXPO
With over 100 exhibitors, Construction Expo 2008 will showcase what is best about the UK’s construction sector with exhibitors and key note speakers representing some of the best known companies and projects in the field.
Construction Expo 2008 will be held at The Chatham Dockyard on Wednesday September 24th from 08.00 until 16.00 and with a large audience anticipated on the day early arrival is recommended. There has already been strong interest from visitors, who have taken advantage of the fast track registration.
The Expo will highlight how the county benefits from best practice within the industry and feature areas have been set up to accommodate demonstrations in such areas as:
• Air-jack technology from Select Plant Hire
• Modern Building methods from Total Floor Systems
• Modern Housing Construction from Natural Building Technologies
• Education - where there will be demonstrations from local further education colleges on a full range on building skills, core to qualification in specialist NVQs.
The Expo, that will be the largest construction and regeneration show ever staged in the county, will also host some key government agencies tasked with the delivery of strategic regeneration projects and brown-field site developments within the region.
This regeneration agenda will be core to future job and wealth creation and visitors will be able to find out more about how to be involved with ongoing and future projects.
Business Link Kent will be talking about how companies can win crucial contracts with public sector bodies, and how to compete for work relating to the 2012 games.
A comprehensive conference programme has now been finalised covering a wide range of industry related topics. Headed by visionary designer and architect, Wayne Hemingway MBE and sustainability guru, Pooran Desai, OBE of BioRegional Quintain other speakers include industry leaders Steven Stone, Chief Executive of Crest Nicholson, and Alan Cherry, chairman of Countryside properties as well as David Liston-Jones Chief Executive, Thames Gateway Kent partnership.
Running alongside the main event Denne Construction will be hosting its own mini-expo, aimed at schools in Kent and Medway, and this will be in a marquee next to the main exhibition area.
