Lawyers Become Corporate Champions
13 December 2007
Brachers Solicitors, Maidstone, are the latest company to become Corporate Champions of the Kent People’s Trust.
The Kent People’s Trust is dedicated to reducing crime through education, creative crime prevention programmes, and most importantly by working with local communities.
Founded in 2000 by Kent Police in partnership with local businesses, the Trust has supported a huge variety of community based projects including road safety education for primary school children; youth clubs, skate board parks, and summer schemes to give young people positive activities to get involved with; CCTV cameras for women’s aid shelters to help protect women from further violence, and theatre productions to teach vulnerable older people about the dangers of bogus callers.
Gillian Ford, Trust Chairman, said “We would not be able to support such fantastic projects without our corporate supporters. We’re delighted to welcome Brachers as Corporate Champions, and thank them for the difference their contribution will make.”
Brachers have agreed to support the Trust with an annual donation of £1,000 for the next five years. Speaking about the donation, John Sheath, Managing Partner at Brachers said. “As a firm we are a strong supporter of local charities and we believe our relationship with the Trust will give our partners and staff the opportunity to interact more fully with the local community.”
