Brachers appoints partner to Contentious Trusts & Estates team

Deborah Cain joins the firm’s growing private client practice.

The firm is delighted that Deborah Cain has joined as a partner in its Contentious trusts & Estates team. Deborah is a highly experienced litigator who specialises in disputes connected to wills, trusts, the estates of deceased persons and other inheritance/post death related issues. She has been involved in a number of high profile reported cases (most recently in the Court of Appeal with Berger v Berger) and she frequently delivers seminars and writes articles on the varied issues which can arise in this specialist area of law.

Deborah joins Brachers from Griffith Smith Farrington Webb LLP in East Sussex where she headed up the firms contested private client practice. Prior to practising in East Sussex, Deborah had worked in London for many years.

Deborah is a longstanding member of the Association of Contested Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association. She is ranked in the Legal 500 as a leader in her field and is also featured in the Chambers UK legal directory as a leading individual.

Deborah’s appointment comes as inheritance and estate services continue to be in high demand.

Commenting on joining the firm, Deborah said:

“I am delighted to be joining Brachers. The firm has an excellent reputation across practice areas and has a particularly strong wills, trust and probate team. It’s a fast growing and developing area of law that means it’s always vital for clients to get the best advice. I am looking forward to working closely with clients in Kent and beyond.”

Joanna Worby, Managing Partner of Brachers, commented:

“We welcome Deborah to the firm and are very pleased that she has joined us. She has a track record that speaks for itself. As we seek to offer ever better client service, I have no doubt that she will prove a great fit and provide first rate advice to our private client base.”
