Profile

Claire joined Brachers in 2013 from national construction law practice, Trowers & Hamlins where she spent thirteen years. She has considerable knowledge of non-contentious construction work.

She is well acquainted with construction contracts including all the industry standard forms as well as drafting bespoke main contracts and subcontracts.

She works for housing associations, NHS Trusts, private hospitals, local authorities, educational bodies, private individuals, developers, contractors, subcontractors and special purpose vehicles. She has particular experience of regeneration and “Decent Homes” projects, keyworker accommodation, affordable housing schemes, commercial developments and schools.

She advises on the procurement of goods and services under the EU regulations and how to manage compliant tender processes and can combine this with specialist knowledge of framework and strategic alliancing agreements.

Claire was part of the Trowers team responsible for developing the ACA Standard Form of Contract for Project Partnering PPC2000 and its sister contracts, the Standard Form of Contract for Term Partnering TPC2005 and the Specialist Contract for Project Partnering SPC2000. She has also worked on many partnered projects

She is a founder member of the Association of Partnering Advisers and a member of the Society of Construction Lawyers.

Advising Golding Homes on its £35 million Regeneration Scheme in Maidstone, Kent.

Advising Metropolitan Housing Trust on a £12 million mixed use development incorporating frail and elderly accommodation, flats for sale and office accommodation in South London.

Advising the SPV on two projects for the provision of healthcare facilities in Somerset and Cornwall under the PFI scheme.

Advising the London Borough of Brent on its £80 million development of Brent Civic Centre.
