Paul Dungate
I am a partner dealing with commercial, information technology and outsourcing work. As well as handling corporate transactions I offer clients process experience and maintain trusted advisor status.
My in-house background has helped me appreciate my clients’ positions in all sorts of commercial agreements and bring a practical approach, developing a role as ‘sounding board’ as well as a trusted advisor.
Having pursued my career for nearly 20 years as an in-house lawyer at major multi-national companies including ICI and Associated Octel, I was the Senior Solicitor at Hays plc running an international team of ten until 2004. I was heavily involved in Hays’ acquisition programme building up a collection of different businesses and then in the re-structuring and disposal programme. I joined Brachers in 2007.
I have advised on a number of significant commercial transactions for all sorts of client, including global players.
I have undertaken several large scale IT development, licensing and outsourcing deals, major engineering works contracts (using NEC, JCT, IME) as well as several share acquisitions, asset and business purchases for major regional clients. I also assist clients on intellectual property protection issues.
A keen rugby fan, I am involved at my local club. I try to play a bit of golf and sometimes relax fishing on the riverbank.
