Sophie deals with all aspects of family law including financial proceedings as well as children act proceedings and works closely with other team members.

Sophie joined Brachers in 2013. She is an Associate Solicitor who deals with a full spectrum of family work. She has a particular interest and a wealth of knowledge in divorce, financial issues arising from relationship breakdown and complicated children cases, including contact and residence disputes. She is an experienced advocate who adopts a professional approach to her work and focusses on dealing with family matters in a constructive and conciliatory way.
Sophie also acts for the RSPCA in prosecuting animal welfare cases.
Sophie read Law at the University of Kent and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London in 2007. She qualified as a solicitor in 2010.

Divorce statistics 2017
The official statistics on the number of divorces in England and Wales were released on 18 October 2017 and show that there were 106,959 divorces of opposite-sex couples in 2016, an increase of 5.8% compared with 2015. Read more09/12/16

Non-payment of Child Maintenance to damage credit rating
From March 2015, the Child Maintenance Service, formally known as Child Support Agency, will be able to share information about the payment history of their clients with credit reference agencies if parliamentary approval is obtained. Read more
