Simon specialises in private client tax planning, trust advice, contentious trusts and estates, charity law, wills and agricultural law. He was recently involved in the high-profile Trennery v West case in the House of Lords which examined the definition of derived property with over £120m at stake.
Nick is the past president of the Kent Law Society. He is also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (TEP). Nick brings a wealth of expertise in advising private clients on complex tax planning issues.
Julia became a partner in 1998 and has particular expertise in health and social care law, particularly around mental health, deprivation of liberty, health and social care issues. She has recently joined the Private Client team where her litigation background and knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 will add strength and depth in dealing with contentious care, probate and inheritance claims. Julia's experience will help to expand our private client services, enabling the team to make increased provision for their wishes to be respected.
Esther deals with a range of private client work, including wills, the administration of estates and enduring powers of attorney.
Jane qualified in 1998 following her training contract at Whitehead Monckton. After qualification, she joined their private client team to develop the department's specialism in advising elderly clients. She was a founder member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners. Jane joined us from Gardner Croft and strengthens our team with her wealth of experience and caring client support.
Wendy deals with the administration of trusts and administers clients' affairs under Enduring Powers of Attorney. Wendy also has experience of Public Trust Office receivership applications.
Kim deals with the administration of trusts and Enduring Powers of Attorney. She also has considerable experience in dealing with the affairs of the elderly and the administration of charitable trusts.
Kelly administers trusts, estates and matters arising from Enduring Powers of Attorney. She also deals with the general affairs of our clients.

Ellie studied English & Anthropology at Oxford Brookes before taking her GDL and LPC at the College of Law in London. Ellie joined Brachers as a trainee solicitor in September 2006 and is currently the trainee in the Private Client team. Ellie has also worked with the Employment and Property teams where she gained a wide variety of experience in both employment law and conveyancing.
