Brachers’ legal expertise has been commended by the leading legal directory Chambers and Partners, with the firm being ranked in six practice areas, including six top tier rankings, and 13 lawyers recommended by the guide.
Chambers and Partners is an independent research company operating across 200 jurisdictions delivering detailed rankings and insight into the world’s leading lawyers. The directory conducts tens of thousands of interviews a year with in-house counsel and third-party experts, such as barristers and accountants. The insight delivered by the directory enables organisations to make informed decision when selecting legal services which save time and reduce risk.
This year Brachers saw six practice areas recognised by Chambers and Partners; Corporate/M&A, Employment, Family and Matrimonial, Litigation, Real Estate and Real Estate Litigation. Feedback from the directory research described Brachers as having “a real client-focused ethos” which creates “uncomplicated, efficient and respectful” relationships with the firm’s clients.
The firm has also had a successful year in regards to recognition for its individual lawyers. Partners Allis Beasley, Ash Jilani, Catherine Daw, Colin Smith, James Bullock, Mark Leeson, Mei-Ling McNab, Michael Oatham, Sarah Gaines and Sarah Webster have all been ranked by the directory. Employment Associate, Sarah Wimsett, has also been recognised as an ‘Associate to watch’ for the first time.
It has been a particularly successful year for the firm’s Corporate team. Head of Corporate James Bullock has maintained his Band 1 ranking and Partners Matthew Simmonds and Claire Williams have both moved up a band, to Band 1 and Band 2 respectively. This builds on the team’s recent Legal 500 success and awards shortlistings which recognise the team’s involvement in a number of high profile and high value matters this year.
Joanna Worby, Managing Partner, said: “This year’s set of rankings is well-deserved recognition of the hard work and expertise of our teams and our lawyers. Our clients are at the heart of everything we do so I’m very pleased to see that the directory feedback emphasises our focus on building longstanding, client-centred relationships with the people and businesses we work with.”
This is the latest in positive recognition from the legal directories for the firm. In July the firm moved up to a Band 2 ranking in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2021, which ranks the top players and law firms for international private wealth. Earlier this month, the firm was recognised as providing ‘legal service of the highest quality’ by leading directory The Legal 500 2022.
