  • Brachers has continued to consolidate its standing as a leading law firm in the South East through the release of Legal 500’s latest rankings. The rankings have recommended 16 of the firm’s practice areas, nine of which fall into the top and second tiers, with 11 lawyers across the firm recommended individually.

This year, the firm’s Debt Recovery team maintained their first tier ranking, being noted for their ‘relevant and timely advice’ and having transferred more than 5,000 new debt accounts in 2014. The Clinical Negligence (defendant) team also once again achieved the top ranking, with team head Scott Alexander praised for his ‘excellent client care skills’ and John Sheath being hailed as an “elite leading lawyer” nationwide in Healthcare. The team has been extolled as ‘consistent performers with a good grasp of detail and commercial reality.’

The Family team led by Stephen Smith, maintained their tier two ranking. The Employment team led by Catherine Daw also held their position in this tier and were further joined by five more practice areas including Commercial Property, Construction, Personal Tax, Trust & Probate, Health, and Agriculture and Estates.

The new rankings come as the firm celebrates its recent win in the national Halsbury Legal Awards, where it was named Law Firm of the Year for its commitment to servicing clients throughout the South East.

Joanna Worby, Managing Partner said, “We are overjoyed that the hard work and expertise of so many of our practice areas and lawyers has been endorsed by a respected authority on the legal profession.”
