• Brachers partner Alexandra Gordon has been shortlisted for the Trusted Advisor of the Year award at the international STEP Private Client Awards 2021.

The award, open to STEP members from across the globe, is for the most outstanding individual in any discipline servicing private clients or an advisor who stands out as being an expert in their field. Alexandra’s submission focused on her legal expertise, her collaborative approach to working with other professional advisors, her dedication to innovation and her commitment to her clients and the  profession.

With 297 entries to the awards this year, across 23 countries, Alexandra’s submission saw her beat off stiff competition to be one of only two UK lawyers to make the final five shortlisted in her category.

Alexandra has had an impressive career to date with her role as a solicitor, Chartered Tax Advisor and Notary Public making her tri-qualified. She became the youngest Partner at Brachers at aged 34 and was also appointed as one of the youngest ever Presidents of Kent Law Society in 2020. She has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Canterbury BID and also commits her time to supporting colleagues and peers, particularly around their wellbeing, and to community initiatives.

STEP is a worldwide association for professionals advising families across the generations. The annual awards recognise both firms and individuals delivering an outstanding service to their clients and acting as ambassadors for excellence in their profession. Winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 23 September 2021.

Alexandra said: “Being shortlisted for the Trusted Adviser of the Year STEP Private Client Award is the absolute highlight of my career to date. Recognition from STEP is the highest honour for a private client lawyer and I am humbled to be acknowledged alongside the other remarkable practitioners in my category, and by the awards as a whole. I look forward to the awards ceremony in September and wish my fellow nominees the very best of luck.”

Christopher Eriksson-Lee, Head of Private Client, said: “This nomination is a reflection of Alexandra’s unwavering dedication to the firm, her clients and to the legal profession. We are delighted that she has received this recognition and wish her the best of luck on the night.”

This shortlisting is the latest in a series of high-profile awards recognition for Brachers. The firm recently triumphed in the ‘Probate Law Firm of the Year’ category at the UK Probate Research Awards 2021, were runners up in the ‘Best Operational Continuity’ category at the prestigious Managing Partners’ Forum Awards 2021, and are current champions of the ‘Private Client Team of the Year’ category at the British Wills and Probate Awards 2020.
