• Brachers has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Probate Law Firm – London and the South East‘ category at the UK Probate Research Awards 2022. This is the second time the firm has been shortlisted in this category, after winning the award in 2021

The ‘Best Probate Law Firm’ award recognises not only excellence in law firm service delivery, but also the support that firms provide to probate researchers.

Legal Executive and member of the Brachers Probate team, Sophie Wallace, has also been shortlisted in the ‘Young Wills and Probate Professional’ category. This category celebrates candidates who have excelled in their role or made a significant difference to their firm.

Brachers’ Probate team is one of the largest in the region, comprising team members with extensive experience and niche specialisms including intestacy, lifetime gifting, private wealth, the agriculture sector, and business assets. This enables the team to offer an enhanced service to cater for clients’ varying needs.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Christopher Eriksson-Lee, head of the firm’s Private Client team, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award which reflects the hard work of the team over the last year. As we move out of the pandemic, our team are busier than ever, but they continue to provide exceptional service and remain dedicated to doing everything possible to support our clients through often very difficult times in their lives. Congratulations too to Sophie, for her well-deserved shortlisting in the Young Wills and Probate Professional category.”

The Probate Research Awards’ hybrid ceremony will take place on Thursday 28 April 2022, presented by criminal barrister and television personality Judge Rob Rinder, star of Judge Rinder, which is now in its eighth series.

The Probate Research Awards shortlisting is the latest in a series of legal award recognition for the firm. Brachers was highly commended in the ‘Best Use of Technology’ in the British Wills and Probate Awards 2021, Private Client Partner Alexandra Gordon was shortlisted in the prestigious STEP Private Client Awards 2021 and won ‘Mentor of the Year’ at the Inspirational Women in Law Awards 2021, and Paralegal Michael Cressey won the ‘Will Writing Paralegal of the Year’ at the National Paralegal Awards 2021.

Last year, the team also moved up to a top tier Legal 500 ranking in the area of Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate. Christopher Eriksson-Lee continues to remain the only lawyer in the region who is individually ranked in Band 1 in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide.
