• Brachers has been shortlisted in the Credit Excellence Awards 2020, in the ‘Legal and Enforcement Profession’ division.

In recent years Brachers’ Collection and Recoveries team has developed innovative processes that has seen it recognised on a national level. Since becoming one of the first law firms to be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority for debt collection some years ago, Brachers has continued to evolve its approach. This has seen collections doubling over the last couple of years.

In its consumer collections work particularly, Brachers always strives to treat the customer fairly and put their interests at the heart of its strategy. This collaborative approach continues to ensure that the majority of collections are achieved without having to take legal action at all, which is to the advantage of both the client and their customers.

The Collection and Recoveries team works with a range of clients locally and nationally, in both financial services and other sectors, with many clients having worked with Brachers for more than a decade.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Rob Thompson, Partner in Collections and Recoveries, said: “We are excited to be named a finalist in the Credit Excellence Awards. The awards are recognised across many industries and really set the standard for achievement. We believe we have developed a distinctive, innovative and highly effective approach to collections that achieves better returns for clients by working constructively with their customers whenever possible.”

Brachers Managing Partner, Joanna Worby, added: ‘This award nomination is a credit to the team who has worked hard to adapt a new way of working. Brachers has always been known for putting customers and clients at the heart of everything we do, so it’s reassuring to see our ethical approach being recognised. The Collections and Recoveries team is a credit to the firm – I wish them luck at the awards announcement.”

Brachers debt collections and recoveries work is no stranger to awards. In 2019 it was recognised for its excellence in collections and recoveries work by being shortlisted for the ‘Law firm of the Year’ award at the prestigious Credit Awards, as well as the ‘Best Legal Services Provider’ category at the Collections and Customer Service (CCS) Awards, This year the team was shortlisted in the Managing Partners’ Forum Awards in the ‘outstanding thought leadership’ category.
