• South East law firm Brachers has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards in recognition of its focus on digitalisation and use of technology.

The firm has been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in Practice Management’ category at the Law Society Awards, the highest accolade for law firms in England and Wales. It has also been shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Technology’ category at the British Wills and Probate Awards 2021. Both awards recognise firms using technological innovation and a focus on continuous improvement in systems and procedures to drive business management and excellence in client care.

Brachers’ submission focused on the digitalisation of processes and integration of technology across the firm over the last year. The IT project, which launched in 2020, has benefited staff by improving efficiencies and reducing administration, whilst clients have seen more streamlined processes, improved communications and increased accessibility as a result.

Tom Hall, Brachers’ Chief Operating Officer, said: “To be shortlisted at both the Law Society awards and the British Wills and Probate Awards is fantastic. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, we have remained focused on pushing ahead with this IT project because we are committed to improving how we work and the service we deliver to our clients. I’m very pleased that we are coming out of the pandemic as a more dynamic and efficient firm as a result.“

Joanna Worby, Brachers’ Managing Partner, said: “Tom and his teams have worked incredibly hard to bring our ambitious IT investment plans to life since last year. As a firm, we are focused on innovation and moving forward and the successful implementation of this project has put us in a strong position where we can offer an improved working environment to our staff and an enhanced service to our clients.”

Law Society of England and Wales president I. Stephanie Boyce said: “Congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted. After an extraordinary year, it has never been more important to celebrate the outstanding work of our profession.”

This shortlisting is the most recent in a series of accolades for the firm. In April, Brachers won ‘Probate Law Firm of the Year’ at the UK Probate Research Awards 2021 and were shortlisted in the ‘Best Operational Continuity’ category at the Managing Partners’ Forum Awards 2021. In last year’s Law Society Excellence Awards, the firm was shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in Marketing and Communications’ category.

Winners of the Law Society Awards 2021 will be announced in an online ceremony on 7 October and the ceremony for the British Wills and Probate Awards 2021 will be held at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham on 21 October.
