• Brachers has been shortlisted in the Insider South East Dealmakers Awards 2015, featuring in three categories, Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Deal of the Year and Young Dealmaker of the Year.

The awards bring together the corporate finance advisory community, in turn drawn from the legal, accountancy, banking and funding spheres, with the shortlist determined through peer-to-peer voting.

The team’s experience in acting for each distinct party, enables a well-rounded view of all the interests in transactions, supported by a regional knowledge which is essential, as more and more of these types of deals are staying in the south east. The team works alongside other departments across the firm enabling them to deliver a full service approach to completing deals.

Two deals which Brachers has advised on have been nominated in the Deal of the Year (transaction size under £10 million) category. In August, the firm advised Angela Curwen on the successful management buyout (MBO) of Kent Crisps from Quex Park. The following month the team advised specialist luxury retailer Watchfinder on its $10 million investment from growth equity firms Piton Capital and Beringea.

Associate Matthew Simmonds has also made the shortlist for Young Dealmaker of the Year, reflecting his growing involvement in these sorts of deals across the region. Matthew specialises in private company acquisitions and disposals, including private equity, management buyouts and accelerated M&A transactions.
