• Brachers has shown its continued support to the agricultural sector through sponsorship of the Kent County Show 2022, which will take place on 8, 9 and 10 July at the Kent Showground in Detling.

Brachers is a longstanding supporter of the Kent County Show, with Sarah Gaines, the firm’s head of the Agriculture and Rural team, joining the Kent County Agricultural Society’s (KCAS) board of directors in 2021.

KCAS, the organisers of the Kent County Show, has been supporting and developing farming and agriculture since 1923. As director, Sarah and the other board members work to promote the charitable objects of the charity including the encouragement of agricultural and horticultural education, research and experimental work.

The Kent County Show is the region’s flagship event for farming, agriculture and rural life in Kent. This year’s event will showcase the very best of what the ‘Garden of England’ has to offer.

The 2022 show is the first full scale version of the event since the pandemic hit, which saw it cancelled in 2020 and a scaled back County Fayre run in 2021, due to COVID restrictions.

Sarah Gaines said: “It is wonderful to see the return of the Kent County Show in its full form this year. At Brachers we have been advising farming families and landowners on legal issues for over 125 years. In addition to this, we understand how important it is to demonstrate our support to the agricultural sector in other ways, such as via sponsorship of agricultural events such as this”.

“I know first-hand how much work goes into organising this fantastic event and hope that families from across the region will be able to come along and enjoy all it has to offer.”

Our support of this year’s Kent County Show is just one of the regional community events the firm has put its support behind in recent months. Other events and community sports clubs that we have pledged our support to include sponsorship of the Kent Charity Awards, Leeds Castle Concert, and Maidstone Rugby Club, Canterbury Rugby Club and Marden Cricket and Hockey Club.

About Brachers’ Agriculture and Rural team

Our specialist agricultural lawyers have a detailed understanding of agricultural law and the priorities relevant to traditional country landowners and farming families.

With the diversification of the agricultural sector in recent years we also have the knowledge and understanding to support clients who run rural enterprises such as vineyards, rural tourism initiatives, and leisure and hospitality ventures.

This includes legal guidance around multi-generational advice, succession planning, commercial contracts and corporate structures.
