What is the best piece of advice anyone has given you in your career?

Have a plan. Know what you want and then work out how you will endeavour to achieve it, whether that’s in relation to your career or a piece of work you’re dealing with.

What are you currently working on?

Preparing for an audit. Making sure all documentation is ready for review and assisting the auditor in planning the audit and with arranging interviews.

Can you remember the first thing you bought with your own money?

My first job was in banking, I remember when I received my first pay slip, some of it was earmarked for a duvet! Those were the days when they were first a ‘thing’.

What is the one thing you could not live without?

A pen. Another thing from my banking days, always have a pen to hand! I have quite a few; I do like a nice pen!

    Which three traits define you?

Being too much of a perfectionist, approachable, a good listener.

Can you tell us your favourite thing about working at Brachers?

The people I work with. With the changing risk and compliance landscape and the challenges over the last 18 months, teamwork is critical to ensure we get things right.
