• In this month’s ‘Six questions in 60 seconds’ interview, we speak to Sarah Mannooch. Sarah has recently joined our Private Client team from a national accountancy firm, where she worked as Director of Legal Services.

Sarah specialises in estate administration, inheritance tax planning and succession planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, trusts and deeds of variation.

Her goal is to connect with her clients and their other advisors to provide a holistic strategy for tax planning and succession needs.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has given you in your career?

I’ve had lots of great advice and mentors during my career, but my dad gave me the best advice when I started working, which is to focus on solutions. It’s a message that I still follow today. The legal world presents lots of challenges for us and for clients, but our job is to find the solutions.

What are you currently working on?

Contrary to popular opinion, private client work is extremely varied and interesting! My work in Wills and succession planning means I often advise high net worth individuals, business owners and farmers, which is stimulating and means that I get to meet a lot of very interesting people.

I also deal with probate and estates, which can include foreign assets, business and agricultural assets, so it is never dull!

Can you remember the first thing you bought with your own money?

Probably some sweets! I am a Haribo addict!

What is the one thing you could not live without?

    My beautiful nine-year-old son.

    Which three traits define you?

Barack Obama said that we should all try to be kind and useful, so I attempt everyday to be those things, but that’s only two! I like to think I am approachable as well.

Can you tell us your favourite thing about working at Brachers?

I joined Brachers recently, and like the firm’s forward-thinking approach and the emphasis on client satisfaction and service. These are the qualities that I think make a great law firm.
