• Congratulations to everyone at Vector Aerospace for winning Large Manufacturing Company of the Year at the Insider’s Made in the South East Awards 2015. The regional editor of Insider’s Made, Philip Cunliffe, spoke about the ‘excellence and quality’ that manufacturers across the South East consistently deliver. He referred to some companies in the region being ‘truly world-class’.

Vector Aerospace is one of the largest employers in Gosport, Hampshire. They were established in 1998 and quickly became a significant part of global aviation. Vector Aerospace provide maintenance, repairs and overhaul services for fixed-wing aircrafts and helicopters worldwide. They employ over 2,300 people in 21 locations across the globe, supporting 3,000 customers including regional airlines and government agencies. Their vision is ‘to set the standard of customer service’ by developing their relationships with existing customers, creating new partnerships and providing employees with resources and opportunities to develop their skills.

The judges of the awards said they were impressed with Vector’s commitment to developing their products and their workforce in a sector which is challenging. It was confirmed this morning by The Guardian that the manufacturing sector shrank by 0.4% in the last quarter. It is also thought that the clash between campaigners about staying in the EU will impact small and medium-sized manufacturers further because of the effect on free trade. Vector’s innovative attitude to be the best at everything they do and their commitment to developing their employees should benefit the manufacturing supply chain as well as ensuring a sustainable future for them in the manufacturing industry.

Congratulations again to everyone at Vector Aerospace for this significant achievement.
