• Brachers has joined the destination management organisation as a corporate investor, as part of a drive to build mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with businesses that have links to or interest in the tourism industry.

Visit Kent currently has more than 150 investors from across the tourism industry and the county’s local authorities. While the organisation has worked with numerous non-tourism but Kent-based business over the years, this is the first time one has joined as a full investor.

CEO of Visit Kent Sandra Matthews-Marsh MBE said:

“We are delighted to welcome Brachers as the first corporate member of our tourism family. The firm has a long history in Kent working with various visitor attractions, food producers, transport companies and local government, and we know they will offer excellent support to our tourism investors.”

“Visit Kent already plays a big role in bringing the private and public sector together to promote the region and to support the economy, so creating a corporate investor programme was the natural next step in our mission to support the industry long term. By investing in a not-for-profit organisation promoting visits to Kent, our corporate investors are helping to support an industry that brings £3.4 billion to the local economy and supports over 65,000 jobs in the county. There are so many businesses out there helping to make Kent an outstanding destination, and we are keen to hear from anyone interested in joining us.”

Corporate investors could include large Kent based businesses and corporate tourism service providers as well as national/international organisations with a presence in Kent. By joining Visit Kent, they will benefit from networking and partnership opportunities with good quality and high level contacts in the industry, and raising their brand profile and commitment to Kent within the UK’s fastest growing sector.

Joanna Worby, Managing Partner at Brachers said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Visit Kent as a Corporate Investor, given our shared commitment to supporting the tourism industry in the county. Working together with Visit Kent means we can offer an enhanced package of expert advice at all stages of the business life-cycle, tailored to the specific issues that face organisations in the tourism and transport sector. Ultimately this means we can provide better support to companies who want to ensure they are risk resilient and equipped for sustained growth and success.”

Visit Kent investors pay an annual subscription to Visit Kent (fees vary depending on the scale of the businesses), and in turn receive marketing, research, PR, digital and funding advice from the expert tourism team. Visit Kent will not endorse corporate investors’ products, although they should be aligned with the organisation’s brand values.

Brachers is the 10th new investor to join Visit Kent in 2016/17 to date. Brachers has a long history of advising established businesses in the region, with offices in Maidstone, London and Discovery Park in Sandwich.
