• Brachers is delighted to be a sponsor for the first time in this year’s Kent Press and Broadcast Awards (KPBA), sponsoring the Photographer of the Year category.

Now in its fifth year, the KPBA is an awards scheme for all of the county’s media, bringing recognition for the hard work and dedication of the area’s media professionals.

The Photographer of the Year category is published to any photographer who has had work published in print or online by a media group in Kent, both staff photographers and freelancers. Whether it’s a hard-hitting news picture or a softer feature shot, any work that demonstrates quality and a genuine eye for an image could be in with a chance of scooping the prize.

An independent panel of judges will assess the entries in each of the 15 categories. The awards are free to enter with a deadline of 5 April 2019. More details are available at www.kpbawards.co.uk.

Winners will be presented with their awards at a high profile ceremony on Friday 12 July at The Spitfire Ground St Lawrence, Canterbury.

Joanna Worby, Managing Partner from Brachers said: “We are really pleased to be supporting this year’s Kent Press and Broadcast Awards. Local media play a key role in keeping the public informed and reporting on issues that matter in the community. We all know that a picture paints a thousand words so we are thrilled to be sponsoring the Photographer of the Year award and are sure that the winner will be someone whose work is truly eye-catching!”

Rachel Knight of Maxim, the PR agency that organises the awards, said: “We are extremely grateful to Brachers for their support and recognition of the importance of local media. As a not-for-profit scheme, the Kent Press & Broadcast Awards simply wouldn’t happen without the sponsors that make it all possible.”
