• Brachers is launching a new campaign this autumn to help businesses build resilience and safeguard their future. The ‘Future-proof your business’ campaign kicks off with a focus on credit control, a critical but often overlooked area of business risk.

The first event in the series, a free webinar titled “Effective credit control: Legal strategies to safeguard your business in 2025”, will be led by commercial litigation expert Paul Abdey. The session will explore how businesses can strengthen their credit control processes through legal insight and proactive planning.

Paul Abdey, Partner at Brachers, said: “In today’s climate, credit control is no longer just a finance issue, it’s a legal one. We’re seeing more businesses face challenges with late payments, contract enforcement, and escalating disputes. This webinar will help business leaders understand how legal tools can protect their cash flow and support sustainable growth.”

    The webinar will cover:

    • Emerging risks and regulatory trends in credit control
    • Legal strategies for strengthening credit control systems
    • A real-world case study on legal intervention and lessons learned
    • An interactive Q&A with Paul Abdey

The campaign is aimed at SMEs, owner-managed and family businesses, and their advisers, particularly finance directors, CFOs, credit controllers, and referrers such as accountants and banks.

The webinar will take place on Thursday 13 November 2025 and is free to attend. To register, please visit our ‘Events’ page.

The ‘Future-proof your business’ campaign will continue into 2026 with a series of events and content focused on helping businesses navigate legal challenges around growth, funding, property, and people. To find out more about future events, visit our Insights page.
