• In 1895, Henry James Bracher set up the firm on Earl Street in Maidstone, and since then, we have continued to grow, now employing over 200 staff in four offices – including our Canterbury branch which opened in 2020.

  • Tech and innovation

As a firm we are proud to be leading the way with our innovation and investment in technology. In order to develop our firm and deliver the best service to our clients, we believe in investment in first-class IT infrastructure to maximise effective time management and reduce administration.

Underpinning our strategy is the goal of continuous improvement in financial performance and providing value-added services for clients. Our staff have the flexibility to work in the way that suits them, and suits our clients, supported by great software and online training.

We have been recognised by multiple legal awards for our innovation in technology, including the prestigious Managing Partners’ Forum Awards, Law Society Awards, and British Wills and Probate Awards.

  • Charity and community

Brachers has always held strong community values and ties with local charities. Member Partners donate monthly to the Brachers Charitable Trust, providing thousands of pounds to many deserving local charities every year.

Our internal Community Relations Committee – comprised of members from across the firm – also collaborate closely to lead on our charity support and fundraising efforts, particularly relating to our charity of the year, which is chosen every two years. This is currently Time for the Homeless, a small team of volunteers who run soup kitchens and support vulnerable people in Medway and Maidstone. Staff from across the firm, including those from our Executive Board, regularly volunteer at the soup kitchens, and donate to monthly collections.

Through their personal development plans, we also encourage our staff to actively engage with charity initiatives that they are passionate about, with many holding voluntary positions outside work.

  • Life at Brachers

At Brachers, we are proud of the core values that we consistently uphold in everything that we do. We focus on maintaining a friendly and inclusive environment across all teams, to ensure that new and existing members of the firm always feel comfortable and welcome. We also pride ourselves on our supportive culture, where staff are heard, appreciated, and positively encouraged. Brachers believe in celebrating success, so we run a monthly ‘Spotlight Award’ which recognises a staff member who has gone above and beyond in their role.

In line with our core values, we have a fantastic social committee who put on a variety of social events throughout the year. This encourages the formation of staff relationships across different teams and acts as a great way for everyone to get to know each other in a fun, relaxed setting. Some examples of our social events include London theatre trips, a family fun day, strawberries and Pimms in the office during Wimbledon and regular after work wind-down socials.

  • Brachers understand the importance of staff wellbeing in and out of the workplace, which is why we have a Wellbeing Committee. The committee supports the firm to be a place where people can be happy and thrive at work, they put on various events and initiatives to raise awareness, break down stigmas, promote existing wellbeing support and make recommendations for improvements. In addition, we offer a flexible hybrid working model so that staff can work in a way that fits around their life.
