• Having peace of mind, knowing your personal affairs are in order is of benefit to anyone, whatever your age or circumstances.  If there should come a time when, because of age, ill-health or mental incapacity you find you are unable to manage your personal and financial affairs, Brachers can help. We can manage your affairs directly on your behalf, or through an attorney or deputy.

    How we can help

    Communicating on your behalf

We can liaise with care providers about your care needs and wishes, medical practitioners about the treatment you receive or represent you at local authority round table or best interest meetings, to ensure your views and concerns are communicated effectively when you are feeling at your most vulnerable.

Helping you to balance the books

We can take the worry of settling household bills away and manage finances efficiently on your behalf, so you do not have to worry. We can also advise you on what benefits you may be eligible for and apply for them for you if appropriate.

We liaise regularly with accountants and independent financial advisers about our clients’ financial affairs, to ensure the most efficient management of their savings and investments. We can also advise on tax matters and complete your annual tax return if required.

    Arranging the care you need

Whether it is arranging a home care package to suit your individual circumstances, advising and arranging for contractors to maintain or adapt your property so you can remain in your own home rather than going into residential care, or simply arranging for shopping to be done for you if you are unable to leave the house, Brachers can help.

We can assist in the process of choosing a residential care home and assist in the transition from one home to another. If it is necessary for a home to be sold to fund someone’s care, we will liaise with estate agents, valuers and house clearance companies on your behalf and ensure that this is dealt with as smoothly and as sensitively as possible.

    We go above and beyond

Sometimes it is the little things in life that make us most happy and you can be assured there are no little things too small for our personal affairs team to arrange for you.

Previously we have arranged for an elderly client in need of company to attend a weekly day care centre to meet with friends, booked a holiday and concert tickets for another, arranged a 50th birthday party (including booking caterers and a magician) for another and even found a lovely new home for a cat whose owner sadly passed away.
