Brachers celebrates appointment to dynamic purchasing system to deliver Employment and HR advice to education sector

South East based law firm Brachers has been recognised for the quality of their employment and HR services for the education sector, having been appointed as an Education Buying approved supplier on their dynamic purchasing system (DPS).  

Following a successful tendering process, the firm is contracted to the agreement for a period of five years, delivering HR services to a broad range of educational establishments across London and the south east. As a supplier, Brachers will advise on, amongst others, HR consultancy and advice, compliance and information governance, recruitment, restructuring and redundancy, employee relations, academy conversions, performance management and employee wellbeing.

A DPS is a procurement tool enabling schools to purchase goods and services from prequalified suppliers who have met the high standard of quality and expertise criteria required as part of the tendering process.

The DPS is run by Education Buying and Churchmarketplace. Education Buying, part of 2buy2, is a buying group for the education sector. The service was created in response to the increasing need for flexible support in the education sector and focuses on enabling education establishments to maximise spending and resources. Churchmarketplace is a dedicated procurement advisory service for all Catholic education establishments across the UK.

The appointment is a significant success for the Employment team who are ranked in Tier 1 in the Legal 500, a leading legal directory, for their expertise in advising public sector services. As part of their commitment to the education sector, the team delivered free, education-specific online courses during the pandemic, many of which focused on COVID-19 specific issues such as managing furlough and supporting staff wellbeing. The initiative, spearheaded by Catherine Daw, was a key factor in Catherine receiving a ‘COVID Hero’ award at the Kent Law Society COVID Heroes Awards in May.
