• Brachers’ Corporate team has advised BN Care Group on the successful acquisition of a new care home, Barton Place.

Operating since 2017, BN Care Group is a nursing home care group based in the South of England which provides a range of residential services to meet the needs of elderly people.

With its clear focus on quality of care, the Group has four existing nursing care homes (Hay House and The Dales in Exeter, St Vincent’s in Sussex and the recently purchased Bymead House in Dorset).

The addition of Barton Place marks the Group’s commitment to expanding its provision of specialist and high-quality residential care.

The Brachers team was led by Matt Simmonds (Corporate Partner) and included Cameron Gaston-Penny (Corporate), Joseph Burrows (Corporate) and Charlotte Berthel (Corporate).

The Brachers team had previously worked with the team at BN Care on the private equity investment by the Business Growth Fund (BGF) into BN Care Group and the acquisition of Bymead House in Dorset. A transaction that was recently Highly Commended at the Insider Media South West Dealmakers Awards 2023.

The acquisition of Barton Place was supported by additional funds from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) and HSBC UK Bank Plc.

Wade Newmark, BN Care Group Chief Executive, said:

“I am delighted to announce the acquisition of Barton Place Nursing Home into our group. Located just outside of Exeter city, the home is an important addition to our long-term goal of building a group providing high-quality care to higher needs residents. Along with our sister home at Hay House, this makes us a leading provider in the area for dementia and mental illness.”

Matt Simmonds, Brachers LLP Corporate Partner, commented:

“I am so pleased for Wade and his team on this latest acquisition. The passion that they all have for making their residents’ lives between shines through. This new acquisition will see them delivering exceptional care to even more residents across the South. We are delighted to work with Wade and his team to play a part in his journey. My thanks to the whole deal team here, including our Cameron Gaston-Penny and Joseph Burrows, the teams at BGF, HSBC, Stevensdrake, Richard Place Dobson, Prydis Legal, Ashfords and Michelmores for all of their efforts throughout the deal.”
