• Brachers has been nominated for an award in all three categories of the Kent Law Society Awards.

Brachers has been shortlisted in the Community Award category, while Partner Mary Rimmer has been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution, and Solicitor Alistair Wickham for Junior Lawyer of the Year.

Mary has worked tirelessly to help those living with dementia feel better understood, recently helping more than 1000 local people become ‘dementia friends’. She was also recently made a partner at the firm, as part of their annual round of promotions.

Brachers is no stranger to the awards, with former Managing Partner John Sheath winning the Outstanding Contribution Award in 2019. John recently retired after nearly 40 years at Brachers.

Joanna Worby, Brachers Managing Partner, said the nominations were proof of the firm’s hard work.

‘These nominations are a testament to the hard work and determination of everyone at the firm, especially Mary and Alistair. Over the years, the firm has raised more than £40,000 for local charities and individuals give up a lot of their spare time to support them. Our award nomination reflects our commitment to helping the community in which we have been a part of for 125 years.’

Brachers Partner Alexandra Gordon is also the current Vice President of the Kent Law Society and will take up the presidency later this year. The Kent Law Society award winners will be announced on 15 May.
