• Brachers is proud to announce its sponsorship of the prestigious Taste of Kent Awards 2024, which celebrate the food and drink of Kent.

Open to food and drink businesses located in the county, the awards have been running for almost two decades, making them the longest running and most significant food and drink awards in the region.

The awards are facilitated by Produced in Kent – the county’s membership organisation for the local independent food and drink industry, which represents over 300 members.

The ceremony, to be held in June at the University of Kent, Canterbury, will include a Taste of Kent Festival in the afternoon, followed by a ticketed ‘Oscars-style’ awards ceremony in the evening. The festival will be open to the public, who can sample and purchase products from the finalists.

Sarah Gaines, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Law team, added: “we are delighted to sponsor the Taste of Kent Awards once again this year. It’s wonderful to celebrate the county’s outstanding produce through a dedicated festival and awards ceremony. At Brachers, we have been providing legal advice to Kent’s agricultural and rural community for over 125 years, and truly appreciate the passion and dedication of local producers. Good luck to all entrants!”

Floortje Hoette, Chief Executive, Produced in Kent, commented: “Produced in Kent is hugely grateful to Brachers for their ongoing support of the Taste of Kent Awards. Our sponsors enable us to deliver the Taste of Kent Festival and awards ceremony at the University of Kent, giving maximum exposure to the county’s finest food and drink, while encouraging the whole community to engage with our vibrant sector.”

The Taste of Kent Festival and Awards will be held Thursday 13 June 2024 at the Gulbenkian, University of Kent (Canterbury campus). Brachers will be judging the ‘Kent Wine of the Year’ and ‘Kent Ready Meal or Prepared Food Product of the Year’ award categories. We look forward to reading all entries!
