Andrew Harbourne

Profile:

Andrew is a Consultant in the Commercial Property team, having joined Brachers in 2023. He advises a diverse range of clients on a variety of property and construction matters. Andrew is also part of our growing team that specialising in providing legal support to charities and non-profit organisations.

Andrew qualified in 1987, before gaining experience at two international law firms, where he specialised in property development and construction and acted for landed estates, housing associations, substantial landowning charities and private developers.

Andrew has since gained over 20 years’ experience at Partner level, including four years as head of the construction team at a local law firm.

Andrew specialises in:

• Property development projects, including residential development schemes; factories; offices; college buildings; student housing blocks; developments over significant infrastructure including an orbital sewer and two main line railways.
• The Construction sector, including multi-million pound college buildings; the construction of student accommodation schemes; cladding remediation contracts for blocks of apartments; work on all the main JCT contracts and substantial experience of NEC3/4 contracts, ICC and ACE contracts as well as bespoke forms of main contract and subcontracts.
• Supporting charities and non-profit organisations with legal affairs, including assisting charities in relation to property matters but also governance, constitutional matters and general charity law.
