• An award-winning law firm, based in Maidstone and Canterbury, is looking to recruit an experienced BD Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and talented marketing team who deliver all aspects of marketing, digital, communication, events and business development.

    The role will work closely with team leaders and relevant sector heads. The candidate will help drive the practice area and sector strategies and support lawyers to develop and implement growth strategies; to win more work by focusing on BD activities such as  identifying new work leads, relationship building and other networking initiatives.

    The firm is supportive of hybrid working and the successful candidate can be based in Maidstone or Canterbury.

    Core activities

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate with a passion in all aspects of business development.

    The role would suit a candidate who is keen to add value and be part of a supportive and creative team.     Responsibilities include:

    • Business development strategy
    • Opportunity identification, tracking and management of new business leads to include working with the M&BD team on proposals
    • Referrer and key client development
    • Market and client research
    • Proposal and pitch management
    • BD training
    • Additional projects – opportunity to assist the Head of Marketing & BD in firm wide and practice area projects

    Are you the right person?

    You will need to be enthusiastic and proactive, with previous experience in business development. You will have the ability to motivate, develop and inspire both teams and lawyers to deliver business goals. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful professional services firm and to use your experience and knowledge to help us grow our business.

    You will need to be comfortable working with various IT systems, however training will be provided; and have excellent written and spoken communication skills. This is a busy, high performing team who work to short notice deadlines, therefore you must be adept at managing various tasks at once whilst also being able to prioritise, organise and use your initiative when required.
