Legal 500’s team of experts has been analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world for 32 years. Its directory highlights the practice area teams that provide the most cutting edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel. Research carried out by Legal 500 is based on feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms, interviews with leading private practice lawyers, and a team of researchers who have unrivalled experience in the legal market.
The 2020 directory shows that Brachers Corporate and Commercial, and Education teams have both moved up a place to be ranked 2, while all other teams successfully maintained the same rankings as last year. The Banking and Finance, and Charities teams, which are both new to the rankings received a 3, bringing the total number of ranked practice areas up by two from 17 last year.
Partners Sarah Gaines, Scott Alexander and John Sheath all maintained their title of ‘leading lawyers’, while Allis Beasley and Graham Wallis were named as ‘leading lawyers’ for the first time. Partner Alexandra Gordon maintained her title as a ‘next generation lawyer’, and Harriet Humphrey was named a ‘rising star’.
