• Brachers’ Family Law team is supporting Good Divorce Week 2020 by offering free advice sessions to families from 30 November to 4 December.

Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign that aims to promote practical and constructive ways for families undergoing divorce and separation.

The campaign is a brainchild of Resolution, a community of more than 6,500 family justice professionals, including our family team here at Brachers. Its members believe the process of separation and divorce should be done in a way that reduces conflict and keeps the best interests of any children at the heart of proceedings.

This year, Good Divorce Week focuses on the benefits of early legal advice, and how this enables couples to consider a broad range of options allowing them to make decisions most suitable for them.

To help in promoting these benefits, this week we will be offering a limited number of 30-minute free advice sessions to those families who need it. These meetings will take place via video conferencing and will cover options under the divorce process and those available to achieve financial settlement.

    Promoting a constructive approach

Speaking about the campaign, Mei-Ling McNab, Partner and Head of Family said: “Parents who have reached that difficult decision to separate often fear that the road ahead of them will be difficult and that there will be a significant impact on children. This does not have to be the case and that’s why we’re delighted to support Good Divorce Week to promote a constructive approach to this often emotionally-charged matter.

“This is an opportunity for couples to fully understand all of their rights and the options open to them and separate in the most harmonious way possible.

“Far too many families have little to no access to professional legal advice when it comes to divorce. The free advice we are offering will give separating couples the confidence and knowledge to make the best decisions for them and their family with minimal conflict.”

To take advantage of this offer book your free 30-minute appointment online.
