• Brachers is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the prestigious Taste of Kent Awards 2023, which celebrate the food and drink of Kent.

Open to food and drink businesses located in the county, the awards have been running for almost two decades, making them the longest running and most significant food and drink awards in the region.

The ceremony, to be held on 15 June at the Gulbenkian (at the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus), will include a Taste of Kent Festival in the afternoon, followed by a ticketed ‘Oscars-style’ awards ceremony in the evening. The festival will be open to the public, who can sample and purchase products from the finalists.

The awards are facilitated by Produced in Kent – the county’s membership organisation for the local independent food and drink industry, which represents over 300 members.

Brachers, a leading law firm based in Maidstone and Canterbury, has been advising farmers and producers for more than 125 years and is committed to supporting the agricultural community, particularly in the South East.

Floortje Hoette, Chief Executive, Produced in Kent commented: “Produced in Kent is hugely grateful to Brachers for their support to the Taste of Kent Awards. [The firm’s] contribution allows us to organise a Taste of Kent Festival and awards ceremony at the University of Kent this year, giving maximum exposure to the best food and drink to come out of Kent and encouraging consumers, sponsors, students and graduates to engage with our vibrant sector.”

Sarah Gaines, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Law team, added: “It’s a pleasure to sponsor the Taste of Kent Awards. Kent is renowned for its high-quality produce – so there will undoubtedly be strong competition. At Brachers, we have longstanding connections with the rural and agricultural sector and recognise the commitment by local growers and producers in bringing local produce to market. We wish all entrants the best of luck!”
