Over the last few months, the government has considered and has now approved reforms to divorce law in England and Wales so that couples will no longer have to blame each other in order to get divorced.
The changes include eradicating expensive contested divorces so that a partner can no longer challenge a divorce. The proposed changes are long overdue and should make it much easier for separating couples to move on with their lives without acrimony. The reforms are also expected to assist in preventing children from being exposed to the damaging impact of ongoing parental conflict.
