• Leading Kent law firm Brachers is pleased to announce that Thomas Hall has joined the firm as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Thomas will work alongside the managing partner and board to achieve the firm’s strategic initiatives to help drive growth and change.

Thomas took up the new position on 1 July, following six years at international law firm, Eversheds Sutherland LLP.

Managing partner, Joanna Worby, said she is delighted by Thomas’s appointment:

“Brachers is excited to welcome Thomas to our team and is fortunate to have the benefit of his experience and expertise. We are an ambitious firm and want to be renowned for our people, performance and relationships, as well as be the best we possibly can.”

“As we approach our 125-year anniversary next year, Thomas can bring the right set of skills to help us continue growth and success.”

Thomas has worked in both the finance and legal sectors and has a keen interest in technology. He joined Eversheds Sutherland as a Senior Performance and Planning Manager before moving to Hong Kong as Regional Head of Finance where he worked closely with the Asia Managing Partner to drive commercial decisions and improve profitability. Moving back to the UK in 2016, Thomas took on the role as Head of Finance Change, driving global digital finance transformation and process improvement at Eversheds Sutherland working closely with the Finance Director. Qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Thomas also has a PRINCE2 project management certification.

    COO Thomas Hall, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to share my skills and experience with my new Brachers colleagues and I look forward to being a positive asset to the firm and our clients, as well as helping drive further innovation within the organisation.”

In recent years, COOs have become a popular appointment to law firms, because of their ability to drive change which is independent of the day-to-day legal operations of a firm.
