• Sarah Hewitt, Associate in our Corporate and Commerical team, answers our ’60 seconds with’ questions.

How long have you worked at Brachers?

I joined Brachers as a trainee solicitor in September 2013 and qualified into the Corporate and Commercial team in September 2015.

What made you get into law?

Both my parents are former head teachers, and my older sister became a teacher, so I was keen to “break the mould” and do something different! A career in law appealed as it seemed to play to my strengths (e.g. communication and analytical skills) and offered a number of future career options.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

So much! You are so young and life isn’t a race – take time off before/after university to explore the world, meet different people and think about what you want to do. Don’t be afraid to speak up and take risks. Oh and don’t give up learning those musical instruments!

What’s been the top highlight of your career so far?

I work hard to provide a top quality service to my clients and I was delighted when my hard work was recognised earlier in the year and I was promoted to Associate.

Can you sum up working at Brachers in three words

    Interesting, challenging, rewarding.
