• It’s a big year for the firm’s Corporate Team. In November the team won the Kent Corporate Finance Alliance Deal of the Year Award for its work with Drink Warehouse UK, which involved fundraising from Percipient Capital and two associated corporate acquisitions. The award was received jointly with accounting firm Kreston Reeves who provided corporate finance advice. In September the team also welcomed highly regarded corporate lawyer Claire Williams as a partner.

The nomination for ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ reaffirms the team’s prominent standing in the regional M&A deals market. A great example of this is the team’s work on the sale of Burden Group to Caneda Foods, a deal which Crowe UK provided the corporate finance advice, and it’s this deal that has been shortlisted for the Deal of the Year (transaction size above £10m).

Joanna Worby, Brachers’ Managing Partner, said the nominations were proof of the Corporate Team’s hard work and expertise:

“I am so proud of our corporate lawyers who have worked hard to help our clients achieve their strategic ambitions. Clients are at the heart of everything that Brachers does, so it’s great to see that something that benefits their businesses is also able to be recognised on such a public platform. I want to congratulate our Corporate Team on these nominations.’

James Bullock, Brachers Partner and Head of Corporate added:

“We are delighted to be nominated for not one but two awards from South East Dealmakers. The nominations reflect the hard work the team has put into successfully completing many business sale and acquisition transactions, investments and joint ventures, often on very tight timelines, over the last 12 months. I also want to commend our clients who have had the vision and ambition to lead successful businesses and made these deals happen.’

Winners of the South East Dealmaker Awards will be announced at an event at the Copthorne Hotel on 6 February 2020.
