• Brachers has been announced as the new sponsor of the Kent Charity Awards 20/21.

Earlier this year it was announced the awards would be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This week event organisers have said the awards are reopen for entries and the ceremony will now take place on 20 May 2021 at Kent Event Centre in Maidstone.

The past six months have been difficult for the third sector and many charities have had to change the way they deliver services. Volunteering has reduced during lockdown and trustees have had to put in new measures to keep charities afloat.

Christopher Eriksson-Lee, Partner and Head of Private Client at Brachers said:

“Brachers is proud to sponsor the Kent Charity Awards and help recognise the unsung heroes – those who give back to the community and make the lives of others better. Charitable giving is an important part of what we do at Brachers, and we have long supported the community in which we have been part of for 125 years.”

“Many of our lawyers offer their free time to charitable work and pro bono advice across the county, and we provide free advice through our events and webinars for the charity sector. Personally, I am proud to work with charitable trusts including West Kind Mind, the RNLI and the Schools for Yirgaalem Fund. Good luck to all those who enter the awards!”

Everyone who entered this year’s awards will be contacted and given the opportunity to resubmit their entry and answer additional questions on how their organisation has coped during the pandemic. Entries close on 5 February 2021.

The Kent Charity Awards was set up in 2015 to recognise and reward the hard work of charities, volunteers and trustees across Kent. Alongside Brachers, the 20/21 awards will be sponsored by Kreston Reeves, Diggerland, Kent County Council, Medway Council, CC Works, Kent Community Foundation, AMEY, CAF Bank, Financial Advice & Services, and The KM Group.
