Together with the lengthy time spent together and the financial pressure Christmas places on families, it can spell disaster for some relationships.
Many couples wait until after Christmas and the New Year before initiating or considering a separation, leading to a glut of inquiries on the first working Monday in January. This has led to the day being dubbed ‘Divorce Day’ by the media.
Divorce Day falls on Monday 8th January this year and whilst we hope that Christmas was enjoyed by all, if you feel that this Christmas has placed strain on your relationship and you are considering divorce, you should seek legal advice as early as possible to ensure you are fully aware of the options available to you.
Our specialist team are well-equipped and ready to assist you should you require any advice at this difficult time. All our solicitors are members of Resolution, the national family law group committed to resolving disputes without unnecessary acrimony, and where possible we try to help our clients to resolve their disputes by agreement.
