The Hadlow Group and Brachers host joint celebration

College’s 50th anniversary also marks 25 years of collaboration with Brachers

Brachers and the Hadlow Group are hosting a special celebration marking two important landmarks: the 50th anniversary of Hadlow College, and twenty-five years of working together.

To be held on Friday 7 July during the Kent County Show, the event promises to be a celebration of close working and partnership.

Brachers was first retained in 1992 to support Hadlow College to help bolster its finances and footprint in the educational sector. A struggling business at the time, significant legal support was needed to help the college build resilient strategies including staffing, governance, effective credit management and land management.

A major transition took place between 2005 to 2010 when the land-based college expanded its offering to more commercial operations. These changes have made the college the success story it is today – offering a huge range of courses to suit the needs of many different students and rated ‘Outstanding’ at its last inspection.

Ash Jilani, Property Partner at Brachers, said:

“We are very proud to have worked with the Hadlow Group for so long and to have helped it develop and prosper. We have been able to support the college as it embraced a unique entrepreneurial approach to diversification. The evolution of Hadlow in creating a model for the future of further education, coupled with innovative commercial, social and environmental projects, has proceeded at an impressive pace.”

Jo Worby, Managing Partner at Brachers, commented:

“Warm congratulations to the Hadlow Group on reaching its 50th anniversary! We greatly look forward to celebrating its success and our longstanding relationship with them. Our firm has grown alongside Hadlow and we have been able to meet all of their legal needs as they arise. It’s really been about partnership – working with the client rather than just for the client. It’s what our philosophy at Brachers is all about.”

Mark Lumsdon-Taylor, Deputy Principal and CEO of the Hadlow Group, added:

“It gives us great pleasure to be celebrating this milestone in our partnership with Brachers. They’ve been with us every step of the way in our transformation from a £3m college to a £52m Group – and as we’ve evolved, they’ve evolved along with us. Their outstanding expertise in the sector continues to be invaluable and they provide the diverse legal advice needed for an organisation as varied as the Hadlow Group. We have successfully created and executed some of the most complex deals and we look forward to another 25 years of working with them.”

The celebration event will be held at 3pm on Friday 7 July in the Member’s Area of the Kent Showground during the Kent County Show.
