Brachers’ legal expertise has been commended by the leading legal directory The Legal 500, with the firm being ranked in 15 practice areas, including six top tier rankings, and 39 lawyers recommended by the guide.
The Legal 500 has been analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world for 34 years. Its directory highlights the practice area teams that provide the most cutting edge and innovative advice to individuals and businesses.
Research carried out by The Legal 500 is based on feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, submissions from law firms, interviews with leading private practice lawyers, and a team of researchers. More than four million users visit he Legal 500 website each year and this guide offers those buying legal services in the UK, reliable and up-to-date information on law firms.
This year Brachers saw six practice areas ranked in the highest tier possible; Commercial Property, Debt Recovery, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, and Public Sector, as well as Corporate and Commercial and Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, both of which have moved up to Tier 1 this year. Overall, three quarters of the firm’s rankings fell into the top and second tiers.
Client feedback described Brachers as “a forward thinking firm with a diverse range of specialisms” and as “consistently providing legal service of the highest quality for their clients.” The directory also noted the firms “strong regional presence” and its “ability to better serve East Kent clients” further to the opening of its Canterbury office in 2020.
Of the 39 individuals recognised by the directory, Partners Graham Wallis, Claire Williams, Sarah Gaines, Allis Beasley, Scott Alexander and John Sheath all maintained their titles of ‘leading individuals’. Alexandra Gordon maintained her title as a ‘next generation partner’ and Mary Rimmer has been recognised as a ‘next generation partner’ in the area of charities, for the first time.
Other lawyers recommended in the directory include: Alex Cosgrove, Andrew Bate, Antonio Fletcher, Ash Jilani, Ben Gallafant, Bill Butler, Catherine Daw, Christopher Eriksson-Lee, Colin Smith, Deborah Cain, Emma Anderson, Erol Huseyin, Frances Cutler, Harriet Humphrey, James Bullock, James Millis, Jennifer Alderman, Justine Sloover, Lacie Kerner, Louise Brenlund, Mark Leeson, Matthew Simmonds, Mei-Ling McNab, Michael Oatham, Nicky Alabaster, Paul Abdey, Rebecca Jones, Rhia Davis, Robert Thompson, Sarah Webster and Yvonne Nevill.
Joanna Worby, Managing Partner, said: “I am very pleased to see so many of our teams and lawyers recognised by the Legal 500 this year. These rankings are so important because they are heavily influenced by our clients and so provide an honest and objective endorsement of the service we deliver. I’m very proud that we have received such positive recognition across the board.”
This is the latest in positive recognition from the legal directories for the firm. In July the firm moved up to a Band 2 ranking in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2021, which ranks the top layers and law firms for international private wealth.
