• Brachers has been recognised for its debt collections and recoveries work by being shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Credit Awards.

The firm has been shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year for the second year in a row and for Collections & Recoveries Service Provider of the Year.

The team is no stranger to accolades, having won the top prize at the Credit Excellence Awards 2020 in the Legal and Enforcement Profession category.

The Credit Awards is the leading awards scheme for the credit industry, whether a financial services provider, an intermediary, or a provider of support services. The Law Firm of the Year category is aimed at law firms with a strong or predominant focus on collections or litigation activity.

Since becoming one of the first law firms to be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority for debt collection, Brachers has continued to evolve its approach, developing a leading team with innovative processes that utilise legal skills and the latest information technology, focusing on building early engagement and customer rapport, with litigation a last resort. This has seen collections doubling over the last few years.

Robert Thompson, Partner and head of Collections and Recoveries, said: “We are excited to be a finalist in the Credit Awards 2020. The awards are recognised across the industry and really set the standard for achievement.

“Our team has risen to the challenges of the past year and has honed its innovative and highly effective approach to collections that achieves better returns for clients and treats customers fairly. We look forward to the winners being announced on 5 November.”

As well as this, Brachers’ debt collections and recoveries team has been recognised for numerous awards. In 2019 it was shortlisted in the ‘Best Legal Services Provider’ category at the Collections and Customer Service (CCS) Awards, while this year it was shortlisted in the Managing Partners’ Forum Awards in the ‘outstanding thought leadership’ category.
