• We are kicking off our revamped ‘six questions in 60 seconds’ interview series by speaking to Senior Associate Kim Harrington.

Kim is an experienced member of our Trusts team and is one of Brachers’ longest serving members of staff, having been at the firm for over 30 years.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has given you in your career?

To always ask questions and never make assumptions; things are not always as they seem.

What are you currently working on?

My work is very varied and no two days are the same but some of my current cases are: preparing Inheritance Tax returns for complex family trusts, assisting trustees in bringing two discretionary trusts to an end and drafting a new charity.

Can you remember the first thing you bought with your own money?

This answer will show my age – a vinyl record and I still have it!

What is the one thing you could not live without?

It has to be my two dogs, who have made these strange times more bearable and insist that I go out for a walk every day.

    Which three traits define you?

This is a difficult one to answer but after asking a few of those close to me, I am going for: reliable, fair and patient.

Can you tell us your favourite thing about working at Brachers?

As I have worked at Brachers for over 30 years I am immensely proud of how we have evolved but kept true to our values. However my favourite thing is the team I work in, full of clever and caring people.
