• Brachers has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Probate Law Firm – London and the South East’ category at the UK Probate Research Awards 2021.

This award recognises not only the excellence in law firm service delivery, but also the support they provide to probate researchers.

Private Client Executive Sophie Wallace has also been shortlisted in the ‘Young Wills and Probate Professional Award’ category. This brand-new award for 2021 celebrates the work undertaken by a young lawyer, with the judges recognising candidates who have excelled in their role or made a significant difference to their firm.

Brachers’ Probate and Estate Administration team is one of the largest in the region, comprising 10 fee earners and four secretaries. It has been a busy year for them team, with a 9% year-on-year growth in probate work.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Christopher Eriksson-Lee, Head of the Private Client team, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award which reflects the hard work of the team over the last year. Since the first national lockdown was announced, our team have gone above and beyond to put our clients’ needs first, including extending our opening hours to support clients through this difficult time.”

Private Client Partner, Alexandra Gordon, added: “I am so thrilled that the team’s hard work has been recognised. Particular congratulations to Sophie Wallace who is an integral member of the team and has worked incredibly hard over the past year, not only in her role at Brachers but in her charity trustee work for the Young Lives Foundation and her volunteer role at Kent Law Society.”

The award shortlisting is the latest in a series of accolades the firm has received in the past year. There has been recognition and success for a number of Brachers teams and individuals, including in the South East Dealmakers Awards 2021, British Wills and Probate Awards 2020, Credit Excellence Awards 2020, Kent Law Society Awards 2020, National Paralegal Awards 2020, and Managing Partners’ Forum Awards 2020.

The UK Probate Research Awards 2021 virtual award ceremony will take place on 29 April 2021, presented by criminal barrister and television personality Judge Rob Rinder.
