  • In a few sentences, describe a typical day for you.

I check all the emails first thing in the morning and respond as necessary or update myself on the latest matter information, I take telephone calls from clients or other parties and help where I can or ask the Partners I work for to return their calls. I help my fee earners put together bundles for Court and/or filing Court paperwork, obtain information and upload information to and from the Land Registry, type correspondence between parties mainly dictated by fee earners or information sent to me by email or sometimes I type it myself and the fee earner checks it, I deal with finance forms as necessary and also admin tasks of obtaining deeds from the strongroom or returning them. At the end of the day I make sure that all post that is being sent by first class or recorded/special delivery is with the post room. During the day I also enjoy conversations with colleagues.

  • What do you like most about what you do here at Brachers?

I really like the friendly atmosphere and engaging with all the other staff and the fact that you feel part of the same team with the same aims all working together to achieve them. I have worked with many of the current Partners when they were trainee solicitors so I really feel that I have a wonderful close connection with them and have seen them develop into amazing solicitors.

Why have you stayed with the firm for as long as you have?

I have always really enjoyed working with everyone at Brachers and I enjoy working with my team and the property litigation work that I do with my fee earners. Over the years I have moved closer to the office location, so when my children were younger they were at schools locally so I was on hand if I was needed. I am proud to tell people that I work at Brachers.

What’s your favourite part of working with your team and wider colleagues?

It is great working as a team, it’s always really good fun and there is a lot of banter in my team amongst the team members and fee earners though we work really hard we achieve our goals by working as a really tight knit team. Most of the members of my team have been at Brachers for over 10 years.

Tell me about a memorable moment during your career at Brachers. How did it come about and what did it mean to you?

There have been some really memorable events at Brachers I love all the anniversary celebrations but I especially remember the 100 years of the firm event, where two of the partners lent their property to the celebrations which involved a large marquee with a barn dance and bucking bronco. It was a really wonderful event and we celebrated in style.

What stands out to you about the culture at Brachers?

We just definitely stand for our values, being the best we possibly can and using those skills to work together to achieve great results.

  • What are you most proud of, working at Brachers?
