  • Tell me about your career at Brachers so far.

I joined Brachers as a newly qualified solicitor from a smaller firm where I trained and previously worked as a paralegal.

I have been at Brachers nearly a year, as I write this, and so far I have been on a very interesting and rewarding journey. Throughout my induction and early days at Brachers I have been immersed in the culture of the firm and have been welcomed and supported by the Commercial Property team. Particularly now we are moved and settled into our newly renovated offices – it’s great to have a modern workspace and to be able to collaborate easily with others in teams around me.

Brachers have helped me enormously in shaping my role and expanding on my strengths and interests as a commercial solicitor and although it’s early days, I am looking forward to seeing where my career at Brachers progresses.

In a few sentences, describe a typical day for you.

My days are varied and no two days are typically the same, but I tend to work from the office three days a week and from home on the other days. We tend to have a weekly huddle which gives a great opportunity for the team to come together, hear about the progress of interesting client activity and have the opportunity to talk about any support we need. It’s a great chance to celebrate successes and collaborate.

On a typical day I work on my client matters, which are varied and interesting work and may include anything from progressing sales of commercial buildings, granting lease’s over vast areas of farmland or granting rights over a neighbours property to use a water pipe.

  • What do you like most about what you do here at Brachers?

I love that Brachers have such an impact on the community, with the charity work, sponsorships and networking events that we host and attend. Brachers has a dedicated Community Relations Committee, which I am now part of and we are responsible for building local community relationships, allocating and supporting our charity of the year and looking for ways to raise funds. It’s very rewarding being able to give back to those in our local areas and it’s been a lovely way to meet people.

I also like how the new open plan office creates such a warm friendly atmosphere and gives you the chance to meet other colleagues across the firm.

  • What’s your favourite part of working with your team and wider colleagues?

We have an amazing team in the commercial property team but also all colleagues are friendly and helpful in the office. I’ve had the opportunity to attend many social events which has been great to get to know others around the firm.

What stands out to you about the culture at Brachers?

The firm is forward thinking and it’s exciting to see the types of clients and innovations within firm technologies and the office space, but what really stands out is how it still feels like a family, you’re considered on your own merit and made to feel that your contribution is valuable.

What are you most proud of, working at Brachers?

I am proud of getting involved in the community relations committee and giving back to local charities.

Finally: What would you say to someone considering working at Brachers?

It is a great place to grow and develop in your role!
