• For the second time in a month, Brachers has proved itself a leading law firm with six of its practice areas and 12 lawyers receiving rankings from Chambers and Partners, one of the world’s most prominent legal directories.

Chambers and Partners is a comprehensive guide to the best law firms and lawyers in the UK and across the globe. For the second year in a row, the firm saw its Family and Matrimonial team receive a Band 1 ranking, while its Corporate and Employment teams were ranked Band 2. Brachers Private Client, Real Estate and Real Estate Litigation teams were all ranked Band 3, and Litigation was ranked Band 4.

This comes on the back of the recent announcement by Legal 500 that a record 31 Brachers’ lawyers received individual rankings, and 16 of its practice areas received rankings in its directory.

Brachers Head of Corporate and Commercial, James Bullock, was individually ranked again in Band 1. All other the lawyers who received rankings last year were again ranked in the directory, including: Matthew Simmonds, Claire Williams, Catherine Daw, Colin Smith, Mark Leeson, Mei-Ling McNab, Sarah Gaines, Sarah Webster, Ash Jilani and Allis Beasley. This year, Mike Oatham was ranked for the first time, joining as Band 3 for Litigation.

Partners Christopher Eriksson-Lee and Alexandra Gordon were also recently included in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide which was released in July. This ranks the top lawyers and law firms for international private wealth.

The rankings from Chambers and Partners consider the calibre of work undertaken as well as feedback from clients and other professionals. The firm received high praise this year, with the teams being described as ‘experienced and knowledgeable’, ‘responsive’ and having ‘a great reputation’.

Joanna Worby, Brachers Managing Partner, said:

“Despite the challenges of this past year, it’s reassuring to see that our lawyers are continuing to receive excellent feedback for their work. Clients have always been at the heart of everything we do at Brachers, and as we celebrate our 125th year in business and the opening of a new office in Canterbury, we are strengthening our commitment to continuing this. Congratulations to all the teams and lawyers who were named.”
